St Joseph’s Private Primary School was officially blessed by Archbishop Simon Poh on 26 March 2021. The blessing was held in conjunction with the celebration of Josephian Day. Sk St Joseph was officially handed back to the Archdiocese on 22 December 2020 and now the primary school has its very own school campus.
Kuching Archbishop Simon Poh presided over the 8.30 a.m. blessing ceremony at the new San Damiano Chapel. In attendance were the CEO of St Joseph’s Family of Schools, Mr Christopher Chua, Principal of the Secondary School, Fr Francis Lim, SJ and Headmistress of the Primary School, Ms Shirley Chong, the Franciscan Sisters, Sr Irmina and Sr Norma, Senior Assistant, Ms Christina Yong and training consultant, Mr Thomas Huo.
This was followed by the blessing of the new statue of St Joseph located at the entrance of the building. His Grace then proceeded to bless the two staffrooms, St Anthony and St Clare, the library, the 24 classrooms and the rest of the building.
The school management committee thanked Archbishop Simon Poh for blessing the school, and everyone who had contributed in making the occasion possible.
