Dinner in Cyberspace – Feasting together in the Lord

On 1 August 2021, the Boys’ Brigade of St. Joseph’s Private School hosted a Virtual Gathering Dinner using Gather Town with Form 5 members and teacher-in-charge of SJPS BB, Mr. Leeroy. Gather Town is a video chat platform designed to make virtual interactions more human.

The gathering began with a Praise & Worship song – At the Cross by Hillsong Worship. Then, they had a few rounds of games on Gartic Phone which is a draw and guessing online multiplayer game. By the time they finished the interesting game, everyone was already starving and Mr. Leeroy led them to Table Grace before they ate their food. This food they ordered on their own food and everyone ate in front of the laptop together. It was the first activity hosted by the new batch of committee members.

The purpose of this gathering was to have a bonding time to build relationship between the seniors and juniors. The members had a delightful but short reunion. It was wonderful that members can still unite with each other through this online platform during this pandemic. Hopefully the Covid-19 pandemic can end soon so that members can actually reunite physically.
