Students from Form 4 Phi of St Joseph’s Private School put together their assignments based on a story they learnt in English Language class in a website under the guidance of their teacher, Ms Lucilla Chin. These assignments are in the form of an essay, short story, poem or drawing or any other creative interpretation.
The story is Ray Bradbury’s “There Will Come Soft Rains,” which depicts a world after a nuclear disaster. The story somehow befits our current situation with the Covid-19 pandemic. Through this assignment, the students understand that all of us can turn something bleak into pieces that can inspire and endure. The stressful time of Covid-19 can be turned from something negative into something more positive; it all depends on the way we view the situation.
