St. Joseph’s Private Schools is made up of three schools that follow the Malaysian National Curriculum, namely, St. Joseph’s Private Primary School (For students ages 7 to 12) and St Joseph’s Private Secondary School (For students ages 13 to 17), and a school that follows the International Cambridge syllabus, St Joseph’s International School Kuching (For students ages 13 to 19). St. Joseph’s Private Schools is a Catholic Mission School. It is a non-profit organization where all students are encouraged to discover an enthusiasm for learning and a spirit of inquiry, whilst also benefiting from a community that nurtures pupils as individuals and promotes the importance of shared values. These values are human moral values as well as religious values.   • Candidates must possess a relevant Bachelor’s Degree or higher in the subject that they are applying to teach. Those with a recognised teaching certification would be at an advantage. 
  • Candidates must have excellent subject knowledge.
  • For national school applicants – Candidates must have a sound understanding of the Malaysian National School Curriculum and have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a school environment.
  • Candidates must have good command of the languages used as the medium of instruction.
  • Candidates must be able to teach creatively using a wide variety of methods and approaches including the use of technology.
  • Retired government school teachers are strongly encouraged to apply.

1. KS3 & KS4 Art and Design Teacher
Job Description :

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging Art and Design lessons tailored to Cambridge KS3 and KS4 (IGCSE) syllabi.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, inspiring, and well-managed art studio environment conducive to creative learning.
  • Portfolio Preparation: Guide KS4 students in building, refining, and compiling high-quality portfolios for IGCSE examinations.
  • Student Assessment: Evaluate coursework, provide constructive feedback, and track student progress against Cambridge standards.
  • Exhibitions & Events: Organize school art exhibitions and displays to showcase student artwork and promote the creative arts.

Job Specifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art and Design, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field;
  • A teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Education, PGDT); and Malaysian citizenship or Permanent Resident (PR) status.
  • Experience teaching the Cambridge KS3 and IGCSE Art and Design syllabus (minimum 2 years) is preferred

Job Description :

We are looking for a reliable, passionate and adaptable teacher to join our Pre-University team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and delivering engaging lessons to students from diverse backgrounds, interests and abilities.
  • Supervising students in learning activities, investigations and other academic tasks.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest instructional pedagogies and educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Preparing lesson plans, schemes of work, assessments and learning activities in accordance with curriculum requirements.
  • Monitoring student performance and adapting instructional strategies to improve student learning and achievement.
  • Communicating and working collaboratively with parents, coordinators, counsellors and other staff where necessary.
  • Attending and supporting school meetings, departmental activities and other school events.

Job Specifications

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or an equivalent qualification.
  • Have at least 2 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in a similar school setting.
  • Possess a relevant teaching qualification, licence, or certification, where applicable.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with Cambridge A-Level or Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) teaching experience.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the subject taught.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Be reliable, adaptable, and committed to supporting students’ academic progress.
