School Band Trip to Germany
The Marching Band of SMK St Joseph took part in the German Open Championship Show Band category in conjunction with the Germany Music Festival 2013 in Chemnitz from 9 – 12 May 2013. 17 of our students are part of this band which consists of members from the age of 12 to 17, playing pit and marching percussion, horn section and colour guard. A total of 70 members and 11 teachers are in this trip. Ms Vivian Ng accompanied our students to Germany.
They emerged champion in the show band category with the highest score of 89.83, beating the best German band by 4 points.
Our students are Aileen Kwee Lin Rui (F1C), Bianca Lee (F1A), Dylan Teo Chun Howe (F2C), Emmelanie Johnny (F1C), Germaine Cassandra George (F1A), Irmina Mitia ak Mexlien Gombek (F2A), Jayne Tan Zhia Ne (F2A), Jon Bonnar (F1B), Larissa Ping Liew (F2A), Nicola Chan Ling (F2B), Ong Rui Jie (F1A), Sean Choy Wei Lun (F2C), Selina Bong Pei Pei (F2B), Vernon Chiou Hau Shen (F2C), Victor Valentine Ng Ai Ping (F2C), Walter Wong Chilam (F2B) and Wong Liang Jie (F2C).
